Monument record MDO46864 - Enclosure on parish boundary with Dewlish, Cheselbourne

A large incomplete single ditched oval enclosure, possibly of later prehistoric date seen at the junction of four fields. The remains were seen as cropmarks and soilmarks and lie immediately to the east of a second similar enclosure. The site is visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs and was digitally recorded during the Dorset Upper Cerne and Piddle AIM Project, it appears to be double-ditched at its western side.

A ditched enclosure is visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs (3-4) and was digitally recorded during the Dorset Upper Cerne and Piddle AIM Project. It is 168m east-west and appears to be double-ditched at its western side, possibly continuing along its south side. The enclosure is cut by several later fields and a historic lane, which runs across the centre from east to west.
