Summary

Cropmarks of a possible Neolithic long barrow visible on aerial photographs taken in April 2015 as part of the Historic England Reconnaissance Recording Programme. The site appears as two broad parallel ditches flanking a chalky rectangular spread visible through the crop. The features were digitally recorded during the Dorset Upper Cern and Piddle AIM Project.

Full Description

Cropmarks of a possible Neolithic long barrow visible on aerial photographs taken in April 2015 as part of the Historic England Reconnaissance Recording Programme. The site appears as two broad parallel ditches aligned NW-SE, flanking a chalky rectangular spread visible through the crop. The slight cropmark traces of a second possible elongated enclosure with a thin ditch can be seen immediately to the north can on the same photographs. This is recorded separately. <1> The features were digitally recorded during the Dorset Upper Cern and Piddle AIM Project.
