Summary

The medieval hamlet of South Louvard is known from documentary sources. By the end of the sixteenth century North and South Louvard were not recorded separately. Medieval earthworks are visible on aerial photographs and lidar imagery, they cover an area of over 6 hectares and were recorded during the Upper Cerne and Piddle Valleys AIM.

Full Description

Hutchins records South Louvard as a seperate entity from North Louvard and adjoining Muston Manor on its South side. By the end of the C16th however, North and South Louvard were no longer recorded seperately. <1>
