Full Description
A rapid examination of air photography suggests the presence of lynchets extending up Kingrove Down, with associated enclosures at SY 697 995 (curvilinear and rectilinear) and SY 699 997 (curvilinear, somewhat irregular). The features, of Unknown date, are visible as cropmarks. <1>
The site of a sub-oval ditched enclosure is visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs taken in 1989 and was digitally recorded during the Upper Cerne and Piddle AIM project. It is 55m by 28m across with a small gaps along its southern side which may be the location of an entrance. The enclosure is associated with several other sections of reclinear and linear ditch which are likely to be associated field boundaries.
