Full Description
Three light coloured cropmarks (representing banks?) are visible on air photographs in an area of pasture. (1)
'A': SY 80309892. A curvilinear "enclosure" with diameters of approximately 50 by 40 metres and a gap with slight overlapping in the south-west. (2)
Close inspection not possible because of crops, but nothing visible from a distance. (3)
The potential site of a curvilinear ditched enclosure is visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs taken in 1979 (2). The feature is 40m by 46m with a gap to the south. The mark is visible in a pasture field taken in September both of which are unusual conditions for a cropmark to form and therefore a non-archaeological origin is possible. The site was digitally recorded during the Dorset Upper Cern and Piddle AIM Project.
