Monument record MDO4387 - Round Barrow, Milborne St Andrew

Please read our .

Summary

A circular cropmark visible on aerial photographs taken by John Boyden in 1973. Interpreted as a ring ditch of probable Bronze Age date. The site was digitally recorded during the Dorset Upper Cerne and Piddle AIM Project. In 2019 an archaeological evaluation by Cotswold Archaeology revealed The two opposing sides of this ring ditch. Two central pits within the ring ditch were likely to be burials, and two features outside may have been satellite burials or an external posthole alignment associated with the barrow.
