Summary

A Bronze Age bell barrow. The mound has been disturbed, probably by antiquarian investigation. The site is visible as an earthwork mound on lidar imagery and was digitally recorded during the Dorset Upper Cerne and Piddle AIM Project.

Full Description

'B' - A ditchless bowl barrow, 11.0m diameter and 0.5m high. <2>

'B' - (33) - SY 82269915. Bell (?) barrow, 29ft diameter and 2 ft high with the diameter of area enclosed by the ditch measuring 56 ft. The mound has been dug into on the top and to the north west. There are only traces of a ditch Grinsell lists all three barrows as bowl-type. <3-4>

'B' SY 82279915. Barrow, ploughed almost flat. Diameter 11.0 metres, height 0.4 metres. … 'A' and 'B' resurveyed, and 'C' Surveyed, at 1:2500 on M.S.D. <5>
