Full Description

"Celtic" fields; part of a group extending from Bowdens and Hog Hill south towards Puddletown (see SY 79 NW 11 and 31). Now mostly destroyed, but visible on-air photographs. The Iron Age/Romano-British settlement on Hog Hill (ST 70 SW 57) falls within the field pattern, and a large enclosure west of Lyscome Farm (ST 70 SW 30) appears to be linked to it. <3-5>

Area centred ST 738005 Remains of an extensive though fragmented 'Celtic' field system as noted by RCHM <3> is visible on OS air photographs <6.1-6.2>. <6>
