Monument record MDO43360 - Iron Age/Romano-British field system, Piddletrenthide

(Centred ST 719006) An extensive field system with lynchets and field banks of Iron Age/Romano British type;
pronounced in the area about New Barn in the east, and still visible around Dole's Ash Farm although here the ground has been brought under cultivation. <1>

(Centred ST 719006) 'Celtic' fields are detectable, but the pattern is fragmentary. <2-3>

The field system remains as described. Though fragmentary, a 'Celtic' pattern is recognisable on OS air photographs <4.1-4.2>. <4>
