Full Description

North-eastern of two adjacent or conjoined plough-levelled round barrows. This monument is clearly visible as a circular, annular or penannular cropmark with an estimated diameter of 18 metres on aerial photographs dated 2017. No internal features could be discerned. A site visit in October 2017 recorded a very slight topographic rise associated with a localised concentration of nodular flint - possibly marking the remnants of a much-spread former mound. It is unclear from the ground inspection which barrow (if either) the mound relates to.

The barrow was digitally recorded during the Upper Cerne and Piddle AIM project. It is the eastern of a close group of three barrows. It comprises a circular ring ditch 16m across with traces of an outer bank which appears to wrap around this and the neighbouring barrow (MDO42416). <2>
