Monument record MDO41953 - Prehistoric worked flint, Curtis Fields, Weymouth

Please read our .

Summary

A flint assemblage recovered from a tree-throw excavated in 2014 during archaeological evaluation of the site for development. A hammerstone and rubber or polishing stone were also found. Analysis of the material suggested the production of flakes from prepared cores brought to the site, and a probable Bronze Age and later date. A few flints, however, suggested Mesolithic or earlier Neolithic activity and late Neolithic or early Bronze Age activity.
