Monument record MDO41693 - Bronze Age/Iron Age occupation, Westleaze, Charminster

Please read our .

Summary

A number of ditches, pits and other features recorded in 2017 during evaluation of a site proposed for development. Finds associated with these features dated from Early/Middle Bronze Age to Early Iron Age. Interpreted as a field system. Some of the pits contained relatively large quantities of pottery and worked flints, suggesting they were rubbish pits associated with a settlement likely to be in the near vicinity.
