Full Description

Anglo Saxon Sceattas found to the End of Hod Hill:
b) ST 8632 1051 - A sceat found by a metal detector user is currently being examined by the Dept. of Coins and Medals, British Museum. <1>

Cf BMC 49

Note: The NRHE-to-HER website listed four Sceattas under the UID 888107. These were listed as A, B, C & D. On closer inspection there appears to have been 2 coins listed as D (now subcategorised as D1 and D2. Coins A, C and D2 were fairly easy to identify against their equivalent entry on the HBSMR database. However, B and D1 were far less certain due to the lack of detail. Therefore, although B has been recorded as equivalent to MDO3935 and D1 has been recorded as equivalent to MDO3933 it is possible that this equivalency for these 2 coins may need to be reversed.
