Summary

A length of ditch was recorded during archaeological evaluation of the site proposed for a new sports field. Though no dating evidence was found, the ditch was thought likely to be prehistoric and part of a more extensive field system.

‘MILBORNE ST ANDREW, LANE END. An archaeological evaluation of a proposed sports field development at Milborne St Andrew (SY 80809755) was undertaken by AC archaeology during January 2001. The work comprised the machine excavation of three trenches, with modern features and a prehistoric ditch identified. The latter may have been part of a more extensive field system.’
