A series of post medieval and early 20th century chert quarries are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs on the northern end of Hardown Hill (1-2). A small Gravel Pit is marked at this location on the OS 1st edition map. The quarries were digitally plotted during the Marshwood Vale NMP.
