Monument record MDO37812 - Medieval strip lynchets, Milton Plain, Powerstock

Fragments of a medieval strip field system are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs and lidar imagery on Milton Plain, Powerstock. They were digitally plotted during the Marshwood Vale NMP.

Lynchets, 3/4 mile N.E. of LODERS church extend for nearly 1/2 mile. The terraces are from 15 to 65 ft wide, but are irregular towards the W. end. <2>

FIELD SYSTEM [G.T] <3>

T2 is correct. The lynchets are pronounced, grass covered and situated on a hillside sloping to the south. Only in the area of A (Centred at SY 50209525) can they be said to be parallel strip lynchets. See AP CPE/UK/2431/4161. <4>
