Full Description
A small possible plough-levelled sub-D shaped enclosure, seemingly open on its western side and measuring approximately 24 metres by 24 metres, visible as acropmark on aerial photographs dated 2005. [1]
This monument was recorded as a geophysical anomaly (273) during the geophysical survey of the route of the Wessex Water Corfe Mullen to Salisbury Transfer Scheme by Stratascan in 2012. It consisted of three lengths of straight or curving linear positive anomalies forming a D-shaped enclosure enclosing an area about 22m by 23m, with three gaps to the north west, south west and south east. Within the enclosure are three pit-like anomalies (274). [2]
The record for this monument has been created with support from Wessex Water.
The enclosure was digitally plotted from aerial photographs (1, 3) during the Dorset Middle Stour AI&M Project.
