Full Description

Melbury Bubb Manor House (ST 59580656), situated immediately N of the church, is a mainly 17th century 2-storey building with rubble walls and slate roofs. The north end of the building may date from the 16th century or earlier. (1)

The house is now called the Manor House. Not outstanding. (2)

No change since previous report of 23 9 55. (3)

Grade II

Melbury Bubb Manor
Rubble with Ham stone dressings. Gabled N. and S. ends with shaped kneelers. One, two, three and four-light windows with moulded jambs and labels. E. front has projecting end wings. Doorway with four centred head. Large central stack. Gabled porch. Staircase, moulded beams, fire surrounds and
plastered ceiling, all C.17. Roof partly C.15. C.15 and C.17. (4)

Manor House and attached garden wall. Grade II*. A C19th granary 20m N of the hosue in limited Grade II. (5-6)
