Summary

A lime kiln recorded as ‘limekiln’ on the second edition (1900-2) Ordnance Survey map. The date of this kiln is not known but it is most likely to be late nineteenth century. The site was visited in 1992-93 by Peter Stanier, who could find no trace of the kiln structure. It is visible on aerial photograph taken in 1948 and was recorded during the Marshwood Vale NMP.

Full Description

A lime kiln recorded as ‘limekiln’ on the second edition (1900-2) Ordnance Survey map. The date of this kiln is not known but it is most likely to be late nineteenth century. The site was visited in 1992-93 by Peter Stanier, who could find no trace of the kiln structure.
It is visible on aerial photograph taken in 1948 and was recorded during the Marshwood Vale NMP (1).
