An area of First World War practice trenches is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs of 1945 within the area of the First and Second World War Bovington Tank Training Site, on Throop Heath. The trenches are constructed in a zig-zag fashion and are visible over an area measuring approximately 50 m by 100 m. (1) Other areas of practice trenches are located to the south (see MDO31301-3). These features were digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
