Full Description
An area of First World War practice trenches is visible as earthworks on undated aerial photographs (probably 1930s in date) within the area of the First and Second World War Bovington Tank Training Site, on Chamberlayne's Heath. The trenches are constructed in a zig-zag fashion and are visible over an area measuring approximately 300 m by 40 m. (1) Other areas of practice trenches are located to the south (see MDO31301-2). These features were digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
