Full Description
An area of possible bomb craters or fox holes are visible as earthworks on undated aerial photographs (probably 1930s in date) within the area of the First and Second World War Bovington Tank Training Site, on Wool Heath, Wool. The earthworks consist of two groups of sub-circular and sub-oval depressions measuring up to 3 m in diameter. One area of pits are arranged in an L-shaped line and in the other they are grouped together. The features are visible over an area measuring approximately 725 m by 550 m. (1) These features were digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
