Full Description
An area of slit trenches are visible as earthworks on undates aerial photographs (probably 1930s in date) within the area of the First and Second World War Bovington Tank Training Site, on Wool Heath, Affpuddle and Wool. The earthworks consist of linear ditches flanked by banks measuring up to 50 m in length. A sub-rectangular bank with a ditch and bank around it is located adjacent to the trenches, possibly the remains of a military building. The features are visible over an area measuring approximately 315 m by 280 m. (1) These features were digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
