Full Description
A possible modern military earthwork, is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs of 1979, on Tonerspuddle Heath within the Tank Training Area of Bovington Camp. The date of the earthwork is unclear, but may be post 1945. The earthworks comprise: a right-angled section of bank and ditch, aligned east-west, then turning to the north; and, to the south, a linear bank and ditch aligned north west-south east, then continuing to the south east as an angled ditch flanked by banks. The earthworks are visible over an area measuring approximately 325 m by 200 m. (1) These features were digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
