"The development of the rear part of the garden of the Post Office, High West Street, and the redevelopment of the frontage onto Princes Street necessiteaed the removal of 3.5 m of topsoil. No archaeological features were noticed. In the surviving east wall of the proprety facing onto Princes Street part of the base and south side (1 m high) of a late medieval ashlar window was seen obscured by the adjacent building to the east."
