Description

The development of the rear part of the garden of the Post Office, High West Street (No. 34), Dorchester and the redevelopment of the Princes Street frontage behind necessitated the removal of 3.5m of topsoil. No archaeological features were noticed in the garden. In the surviving east wall of the property facing onto Princes Street, part of the base and south side (1m high) of a late medieval ashlar window was seen obscured by the adjacent building to the east.
