Full Description
An area of strip lynchets is visible as earthworks on the 2nd edition OS map and aerial photographs of the 1940s in Southwell, Portland. The area has now largely been built over. The lynchets are oriented north west-south east and cover an area measuring approximately 540 m by 480 m. (1-2) An area of extant lynchets is located to the west (see MWX5242) and in the south eastern corner of the system (see MDO29686). This site was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
