Full Description
Second World War beach defences, consisting of beach scaffolding and a line of anti-glider posts, are visible as structures on aerial photographs of 1941 and 1942, along the beach adjacent to Banks Road. The defences run parallel to each other along most of their length, with the posts continuing further to the south. The defences were recorded from all available photographs, extending for a distance of approximately 1120 m. (1-2) This site was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
