Full Description
A layer of oyster shells and sand was recorded at a depth of about 2.8m below ground level at the base of a trench excavated at Pex Marine, Thames Street, Poole by Poole Museum. This oyster shell deposit was interpreted as part of the same midden deposit found under the Town Cellars. It was sealed beneath late 15th-early 16th century reclamation deposits. (1)
