Summary

A small ditch oriented NW-SE was found during an archaeological evaluation by AC archaeology to the rear of 35-37 Blandford Road, Hamworthy in 2007. It contained two sherds of early Roman coarseware pottery.

Full Description

A small ditch oriented NW-SE was found during an archaeological evaluation by AC archaeology to the rear of 35-37 Blandford Road, Hamworthy in 2007. It was 0.6 m wide and survived 0.1 m deep. It was filled with mid-dark brown slightly silty sand with small rounded gravel and contained two sherds of early Roman coarseware pottery. (1)

The ditch is of a similar type and orientation to other early Roman ditches found in the immediate vicinity.
