Monument record MDO2609 - Bowl barrow on East Hill, Sydling St Nicholas

One of a group of four bowl barrows on East Hill. In 1952 this monument was reported as being around 33 feet in diameter with a mound about 2½ feet high. The barrow is visible as a low mound around 11.2 m in diameter on a 1995 aerial photograph and was digitally plotted during the Dorset Upper Frome AIM project.

The barrow is visible as a low mound around 11.2 m in diameter on a 1995 aerial photograph and was digitally plotted during the Dorset Upper Frome AIM project <5>. The feature is still faintly visible as an earthwork on current Google Earth imagery.
