A sub circular hollow feature on Black Hill, Cerne Abbas, is visible as an earthwork on 1940s aerial photographs and Environment Agency lidar imagery. The feature is recorded on the OS 1st Edition map as a chalk pit. It was digitally plotted during the Dorset Upper Cerne and Piddle AIM project.

Full Description
A sub circular hollow feature on Black Hill, Cerne Abbas, is visible as an earthwork on 1940s aerial photographs and Environment Agency lidar imagery [2, 3]. The feature is recorded on the OS 1st Edition map as a chalk pit [1]. It was digitally plotted during the Dorset Upper Cerne and Piddle AIM project.
