Full Description

A small group of medieval and early post-medieval features, including rubbish pits and possible boundary ditches, was recorded during small-scale excavations on the site. One piece of possible Saxon pottery was recovered from a later feature. The excavators felt that the generally low density of medieval finds indicated that the area was not intensively occupied in this period. (1)

Observations during subsequent development of the site for housing revealed a number of linear features, which contained predominantly post-medieval artefacts. These linear features were still considered to be boundary ditches. No features or deposits of medieval date were identified. (2)
