Full Description
B'. SY 70779511. A small mound, grass covered, which lies 5.0 metres north of a depression resembling a chalk digging. Diameter of mound, 11.0 metres, height 0.3 metres, with no visible ditch. A possible bowl barrow, although, the chalk pit suggests that the mound may be upcast. <2>
'B' SY 70779510? Barrow, diameter 11.0 metres, height 0.4 metres. Ploughed down in arable. Neither of these possible barrows has a visible ditch. Re-surveyed at 1:2500 on M.S.D. <5>
This barrow group was visited by the MPPA in 1999, and all three barrows are now levelled by ploughing. Not recommended for scheduling. Ground photos with archive reports. <6>
A low mound approximately 15m across is visible as low earthworks on lidar imagery and was digitally recorded during the Upper Cerne and Piddle AIM project. <8>
