Full Description
Part of a near-vertically sided ditch or trench was exposed during an evaluation of the grounds of the Headmaster's House, Milton Abbey School by Wessex Archaeology in 2007. The ditch was aligned roughly NNW-SSE and was about 0.7 m wide and over 0.8m deep. The base was not revealed. It was filled with chalk and silt. No dating evidence was recovered, but it was thought to be a modern feature by the excavators.
