‘Pilsdon Pen. During the course of many walks on Pilsdon Pen I have picked up artefacts from the surface in two places:
… (b) On the top of the hill, within the fortifications on the surface of redistributed soil. All are Mesolithic:
1 awl-cum-scraper, grey flint
1 core-trimming flake, broken off and heat-cracked, brown flint
1 end-and-side blade scraper, white flint
1 end-and-side scraper, grey flint
1 core-trimming flake utilised as a knife, grey flint
1 waste flake, utilised, grey flint
1 waste flake
1 side scraper, grey flint
1 micro-scraper, grey flint
1 greensand chert broken blade
1 primary waste flake, grey flint’
