Full Description
The New Brewery was located on Gundry Lane, Bridport. It was built by Thomas Rose in 1811 and he ran it until becoming bankrupt in 1817. It was taken over in 1818 by John Cole, later in partnership with Thomas Legg from 1836. In 1867 Thomas Legg purchased Bridport Old Brewery and transferred production there. The New Brewery remained in use only for malting and storage. In 1881 it was converted into a bonded warehouse. (1)
The malthouse and the bonded warehouse are still extant.
