Full Description
Portland Railway milestone inscribed 'III' extant in 1980s but possibly gone by 2007. (1) Marked as ‘Stone’ on 1900, 1927 and 1938 maps. (2-4) The 1825 Act for the Portland Railway stipulated the erection of stones at quarter-mile intervals along the line. (5)
