Summary

Pair of large limekilns. There was a single limekiln in 1927, with a second kiln added on south side in 1931. Both worked by Messrs. Sydney Milverton & Sons until 1959. Part later demolished when wall became dangerous. Large corrugated iron shed in front was recently demolished (1999), revealing both draw arches with horizontal lintels. This is the last example of a twentieth-century limekiln on Portland.

Full Description

Pair of large limekilns. Single limekiln in 1927 (1), with second kiln added on south side in 1931. Both worked by Messrs. Sydney Milverton & Sons until 1959 (2).
