Full Description
There was a small quarry at SY 69777123 close to Rufus Castle in 1901. (1) Quarrying had moved along the cliff edge further east by 1926. (2) Work was active in 1930. (3) Most of the area has been backfilled and is covered with scrub vegetation but there is a small quarry face (or natural cliff?) at SY 69877136 although the site is mostly filled with waste stone. Parts of a timber quarry crane and its ironwork lie here.
