Tramway tunnel beneath waste, constructed of large rough blocks after 1863 and before 1889. West portal has massive rectangular lintel beneath blocks of waste tip. East portal (in Waycroft Quarries) has triangular lintel beneath blocks of waste tip and part of the cutting here was made safe c2006.
