Summary

A trial excavation at the rear of 24-26 High Street, Christchurch, during 1975, revealed 19th century layers and a dump of late 19th-early 20th century storage vessels. These were hard and well-fired with a flower-pot profile: height 344mm; width (top) 390mm; width (base) 270mm.

D. Markell, undertook a trial excavation at the rear of 24-26 High Street, Christchurch, during 1975. The results were subsequently published as a short note in DNHAS monograph 5 (1).

The excavation revealed 19th century layers and a dump of late 19th-early 20th century storage vessels. These were hard and well-fired with a flower-pot profile: height 344mm; width (top) 390mm; width (base) 270mm.
