Roman building debris, probably of a hypocaust, found circa 1865 at the Old Grammar School, on a site where a statuette of Mercury was found in 1747. Two masses of tiles were mortared together. <1>

SY69289050. Substantial remains of wall plaster were found here in 1963. <2>
