Summary

A bowl barrow. In 1970 this monument was reported as being around 40 feet in diameter with a mound about 3 feet high, and covered in scrub. The site of a Bronze Age round barrow is marked on the OS first edition map within Dole's Hill Plantation, Piddlehinton. It is visible as an extant earthwork on lidar imagery and was digitally recorded during the Upper Cerne and Piddle Valleys AIM project.

Full Description

A Ciarn. Diameter 11 paces, height 2 ft. <2>

A bush covered bowl barrow with soil covering but with a large number of flints exposed. It has a flat top with a slightly sunken centre. Diameter 16.0 metres height 0.9 metres. <3>

SY 73639862. Bowl barrow in thick undergrowth; diameter 12.0 metres, height 0.5 metres. No visible ditch.
