‘(223) WEST GATE AREA … (b) Inhumations, about 30, found c. 1920 in making the former Women's Institute tennis courts (68849078) … They lay on either side of a pair of parallel ditches running N. W. to S.E. (see the Aqueduct (227 a), p. 588); Romano-British sherds were found in the topsoil. (68819080; information from Mr. C.J. Green.)’
