Description

Two burials were seen by C.J.S. Green some 30ft apart during building development on the site of the WI tennis courts in 1965. Both burials were extended; one E-W and the other W-E, in graves cut just a foot or less into the chalk. They lay on either side of a pair of parallel ditches running NW-SE (possibly the roman aqueduct). Romano-British sherds were found in the topsoil.
