Summary

Three ditches running N-S were found by AC archaeology during works at Dorchester Middle School, Coburg Road, Dorchester in 1998. They comprised one large and two smaller, broadly parallel ditches. These are undated but the character of their fills suggests a prehistoric date.

Full Description

Three ditches running N-S were found by AC archaeology during works at Dorchester Middle School, Coburg Road, Dorchester in 1998 (1) (2). The largest ditch was flat-bottomed and measured 2.5m wide, filled with light yellowish-brown clay. The other two ditches were smaller in scale. No dating evidence was recovered, but the character of the fill suggests a possible prehistoric date.
