Summary

Single storey cottage of four unequal bays with attic, built in 1808. Formerly a forester’s or labourer’s cottage. Largely reconstructed by T E Lawrence for himself, 1922-34; and Lawrence’s garage, built in 1930.

Full Description

Colonel T E Lawrence ('Lawrence of Arabia') bought the cottage in 1925 and lived there until his death in 1935. Presented to the National Trust in 1938. <2>
