Summary

Earthwork remains of a medieval field system with strip lynchets situated to the southeast and southwest of Mapperton House. Field investigations in 1955 found the earthworks surviving to to a height of 2 metres.

Full Description

Lynchets form five groups of terraces in the S. of the parish.
A On a W. and S. slope S.E. of Mapperton House. <1>

A [Centred at SY 50499941] The boundaries were supplied by field survey.

A Long grass covered and contour following strip lynchets. Approximately parallel and under grass. Average 2.0m high. … All lynchets being of Md. Type. <2>
