Medieval strip lynchets on Coombe Down Hill. Parallel lynchets are visible as earthworks on lidar imagery on Coombe Down Hill and Gold Hill. They were digitally plotted during the Marshwood Vale NMP.

(Centred ST 488000) Strip lynchets plotted from air photographs. <1>

There are several groups of lynchets on the north and south slopes of Coombe Down Hill. A well-marked group facing south has terraces from 20 yards wide upwards. There are also lynchets on the north slopes of Gold Hill. <2>

Lynchets centred in three areas, and visible on air photograph … 'B' (ST 487001). Similar to 'A' but not so well pronounced, and not so regular. <3>
